VINTAGE HAWAIIAN LAUHALA HAT, BOX TOP LOVE KNOT STYLE, RARE

YOU ARE BIDDING ON AN ESTATE SALE FIND IN HILO, HAWAII. IT IS A VINTAGE HAWAIIAN WOVEN LAUHALA HAT.  WE ARE TOLD THAT THIS WEAVE IS A BOX TOP, LOVE KNOT DESIGN. THE ESTATE SALE WAS SELLING ITEMS PRIMARILY FROM THE 50'S & 60'S.
AS WITH MOST VINTAGE HATS, THIS IS A SMALL SIZE COMPARED TO HATS WOVEN TODAY.
MEASUREMENTS:
Inside circumference - 20 1/4"
Height of Box Top crown - 4 1/2"
Top of Box Top crown - 6" x 6"
Brim - 3 3/4" wide from center
The hat measures 14" wide from side to side
There are two areas in the photos that depict slight defects that we have noticed.
Photo 3 is a small area (1/2 - 3/4") at base of crown where weave is detached.
Photo 4 & 5 are of a small area (3/4") on the edge of brim where weave is missing, and a small metal bracer is visible that circles the brim under the weave.
A knowledgable weaver should know how to repair these areas, if needed. These areas are not blatantly visible to the average observer, but upon closer inspection they would be.
This hat would be a wonderful addition to any collection, and can be worn right away. The defects noted do not prevent anyone from wearing the hat.

RETURNS:
Most items can be returned for a full refund if you notify us and return the item within 30 days after receiving it. The item must be returned in the same, undamaged condition in which it was sent to you. Unused items with tags must have tags still attached.
Buyer pays for return postage
using the same method that we used to send the item to you. There is no refund on return postage. All sales are final for cosmetics, skin care and personal care items and cannot be returned.
