    This is a Quadrant model of the
    cruiser
    USS Newport News, CA-148, c1966
    .
    The Newport News was one of the last of the US heavy cruisers and the class were very large ships.  Quadrant models are made in France and are
    essentially
    hand-built from resin castings, carefully assembled with great detail and finely hand-painted.  They are very rare and only built in limited numbers.
    This model is as-new and opened for a photo.
